🐬Dolphins Weekly Splash: The Home Stretch!

Hey Dolphin Family!

What a week to be a Dolphin. We are heading into the final stretch of the season, and everything is on the line. Grab a drink, settle in, and let’s look back at an incredible Saturday and ahead to a jam-packed week.

🏆 Saturday's Meet: Dominance & Record-Breaking!

Wow. Just... wow. On paper, we were projected to win a tight one. Our swimmers had other plans and beat expectations yet again, bringing home a 221 to 198 victory!

Not only did we get the win, but our swimmers also rewrote several Rolling Valley records:

  • Matthew Spans: Broke Landen Matis' 11-12 Boys Freestyle record with a blazing time of 28:06. He followed that up by breaking the 11-12 Boys Butterfly record with a 30:60—toppling a record that has stood since 1992!
  • 13-14 Boys Medley Relay: The powerhouse squad of Matthew Spans, Noah Poluta, Brady Van Buskirk, and Tommy McHugh set a brand-new pool record with a time of 58:09!

What this win means: We now control our own destiny. If we defeat Walden Glen this coming Saturday, we WILL be the Division Champions! Let’s finish the job.

📊 Check Your Volunteer Points!

We only have two weeks left to earn volunteer points for the season. As a reminder, each family is required to hit 10 volunteer points.

To check where you currently stand:

  1. Log into the team website.
  2. Click the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Select "My Account."

From there, you can see all the spots you’ve already filled and your total signed-up point value. If you're short of the 10-point mark, we have plenty of open slots this week (Monday's B Meet, Friday's Pep Rally, and Sunday's Lock-in) to help you get across the finish line!

🧠 A Quick Note on Divisionals (Looking Ahead)

For our newer families, Divisionals look a little different than our regular Saturday meets:

  • They are NOT scored for the team—this is an individual showcase.
  • Swimmers choose their own strokes.
  • We are guaranteed 2 firm entries per stroke, per age group.
  • The top of the ladder for each stroke gets the first option to swim. If they pass, we move down the ladder until spots and alternate positions are filled.

Next Steps:

DECLARE YOUR SWIMMERS FOR DIVISIONALS

Start chatting with your kids about what they might want to swim. I have my own personal methods for helping my two swimmers make their selections—if you want some advice or have questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly!

We will send out an email later this week with specific details on how we will gather stroke selections, as we need them locked in early next week.

Thank you for reading through this monster update. Let’s bring the energy this week and bring home that divisional title!

Go Dolphins! 🐬
